Thanks! Melissa What payments do you accept? TOP We accept Pay Pal, Money Orders, Personal Checks (patterns will be held to be shipped until the check clears our bank), echecks, debit and credit cards. Your personal information is not seen or kept by my store. A secure third party takes care of the checkout process. Are your patterns Originals? TOP
Yes!! We do not sell any photocopies of original patterns or reproductions. We will always list the date of the pattern copyright if it is listed on the envelope or found by research using both pattern dating books and the Internet. There are some patterns that we have to "guess" the date by looking at the envelope art and the style of clothing. We may list 50's, 60's, for example, if we are not sure of an exact date.
Is the picture on your website the actual pattern that I will receive? TOP Yes! All pictures are of the actual pattern that you will receive. We do not use "stock photos" UNLESS the pattern envelope is tattered beyond recognition or missing. If we use a "stock photo" we will list that in the product description. How do I know a pattern is complete? TOP
All of our patterns are checked to make sure that they are complete. I personally check 95% of all my patterns and the rest are checked by a trusted 3rd party. There is always a chance that a pattern got by us with a wrong piece or a missing piece. If this happens I will refund your money and pay for the return shipping.
We also sell incomplete patterns that may be missing a piece that could easily be "made up" by you, the seamstress. Please check our "Incomplete Pattern" category, which lists each pattern individually and states which piece is missing. How do I know what type of condition the pattern is in? TOP
I try to list any of the following items in the pattern description in the listing information. Vintage patterns, the envelopes, instructions and pieces could include: yellowing due to age, pattern store stamps, pencil or pen writing, wrinkling or creases, rough corners of the envelope due to wear and tear.
Our patterns are purchased from many different locations so we are not able to guarantee what they have been exposed to in their "earlier" life...before they arrived to live here with us! Our storage area is a smoke-free, but...cat friendly place. Please keep this in mind if you have any allergies! If a pattern I wanted to buy has already sold, do you have another one? TOP Yes, there is always a chance I may have another pattern. I have around 1,000 patterns still to list....so I may have one. Please email me the pattern information and I will check my "stash" and email you back within the same day, if possible! Can you email me additional sewing information on a pattern? TOP
Yes, just email us with your question about the pattern and we will email you back just as soon as we can! What is your shipping cost and do you offer discounts? TOP
Our low shipping cost and discounts can be found by clicking on the "Shipping Discount" big button or link on the home page. Do you sell patterns internationally? TOP
Yes!! I LOVE my International customers!! We ship worldwide! Please click the "Shipping Discounts" button on the front page for more information! Do you allow returns? TOP
Yes and No! Normally the answer is no. We do our very best to accurately describe the pattern envelope, the instructions and the pieces. We hand count every pattern to check for completeness. We list the sizes and sewing information in the listing description. We feel that unless we were negligent in not disclosing something about your pattern , you may not return it. If we made a mistake, which all people do, and miss something in the description, that you feel cannot be overlooked, please contact us and we will refund your money with your returned pattern and return shipping on us!
Why do you sell vintage patterns? TOP
Well, that's a good question! I taught myself to sew and had my own sewing business about twenty years ago. I had to put sewing and my business to the side when my three boys came along. I started sewing again a few years ago, using mainly vintage linens and material, which I also collect. I have always loved vintage fashion and patterns and have collected both now for several years. My sister has a "brick and mortar" Vintage clothing store, which I have sold in for the past six years.
In the summer of 2008, I was able to acquire a large amount of vintage sewing patterns....more than I could have sewn in a lifetime. I decided then to combine my love of sewing and collecting into selling vintage patterns. I started selling on line at both Etsy and Ebay and have loved it! I love seeing where my patterns end up going!
In March 2009, I decided, after prayer and the agreement of my family, to start selling on line! I can't wait to see where all my patterns are going to end up and all the wonderful stories that I get to share in! Why should I buy vintage patterns from you instead of someone else? TOP
Very good question! The best answer I can give you is that you will receive the VERY BEST customer service that I can give! I try to always be honest and helpful. I believe that no question is silly and no request is too big!
I probably haven't sold patterns online as long as some other people but.... I will do my best to help you.... from looking for the just the right pattern to getting it to you safely!
My goal is to have HAPPY customers that will want to come back and shop again and hopefully feel free to recommend me to their friends and family! (That's my highest compliment! )
I strive for diversity in styles, sizes and types of patterns that I sell.
I will do my best to keep my pattern and shipping prices affordable for all my customers, both here in the USA and Internationally!
Okay...I'm going to stop now... I'm starting to sound like I'm running for office! :)
Do you also sell vintage clothing? TOP I am planning on selling vintage clothing also in the near future. I'm spending all my free time now listing great vintage sewing patterns. I will probably start listing my vintage sewing patterns in the summer of 2009. How often do you add new patterns and how do I find them? TOP I would like to add new patterns every day but it may be bi-weekly. You can find the new patterns by clicking on the big button on the home page marked "New Items" or by clicking on the category listing "new item". |
